DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS - HILBERT COLLEGE
Hilbert College is currently accepting applications
and nominations for a Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Reporting directly to the President, the Director will place the
highest priority on the overall educational experience of the
student-athlete in the conduct of intercollegiate athletics.
Continuing the success of a three-year rebuilding program, the
Director will provide vision and leadership to guide the athletic
program in a manner commensurate with the mission, values, and
strategic plan of the College and the goals and objectives of the
Athletic Department’s planning document. The Director will be
committed to an environment that encourages and supports
diversity, fairness, and equity.
Job Summary: Ensure the
athletic program produces quality, competitive athletic teams and
supports student-athletes through the management of personnel,
budgetary, facility, and equipment resources; work with Enrollment
Management to enhance recruitment and retention efforts; ensure
compliance with NCAA, appropriate athletic conference, and College
rules and regulations; develop a competent and effective coaching
staff by recruiting and hiring qualified head coaches, providing
guidance on college policies and coaching philosophy, and being
accessible to coaches; work in conjunction with Institutional
Advancement to coordinate all department fundraising; oversee
comprehensive game schedules for all sports, game management, use
and maintenance of facilities, and supervision of athletic events
on campus.
Requirements: Graduation
from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in a related
field and five years of athletic administrative experience in
intercollegiate athletics; or a bachelor’s degree in a related
field and 10 years of athletic administrative experience in
intercollegiate athletics; experience directly related to NCAA
Division III preferred. The candidate must have demonstrated
competencies in organizational, fiscal and personnel management,
leadership skills, and a record of academic and ethical
integrity. The individual must be capable of handling multiple
tasks and have exceptional communication and public presentation
skills. The ability to work effectively with students, staff,
alumni, and the community is essential.
