LA ROCHE TO ADD MEN'S LACROSSE IN FALL 2010
7/29/09
Lacrosse, a sport that’s been steadily gaining in popularity in
western Pennsylvania, is coming to La Roche College as a varsity
sport in fall 2010. Athletic Director Jim Tinkey said that he is
currently looking for a men’s lacrosse coach to build a team that
would be ready to play next year.
They will compete as an independent, as the AMCC does not have
enough members who sponsor the sport to host a championship.
Medaille College and Frostburg St. University are the only other
conference schools which sponsor men's lacrosse. La Roche is
also exploring the feasibility of introducing women’s lacrosse some
time in the near future.
