2011-12 MEN'S BASKETBALL
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

LA ROCHE PICKED TO REPEAT
AS AMCC MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPS

With five first place votes, La Roche College was selected by the AMCC coaches to repeat as conference champions in 2012.  Three-time league champion Penn State Behrend earned three first place nods to finish second in the polling.  Medaille College, title-holders in 2009 and 2010, finished third in the predictions.

Preseason Player of the Year honors go to Pitt-Greensburg forward David Palmer (Pittsburgh, PA/Westinghouse).  The junior was a first team all-conference selection in 2011, recording the fifth best rebounding season in AMCC history with 10.5 per game, good for 27th best in nation, and was ranked 8th all-time in the AMCC in FG% with a 60.3% average (25th best in the nation).  He averaged 18.8 ppg with 13 double-doubles, which ranked him 26th in Division III.
The AMCC kicks off conference play on Wednesday, November 30, and the championship will be Saturday, February 25, hosted by the number #1 seed.  The tournament winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
