The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference coaches have
unanimously selected Frostburg State University as the favorite to
repeat as conference champions in 2003. The Bobcats have won
five of the six titles since the league's inception in 1997.
The squad finished 2002 with a 25-10 record and earned an
independent bid to the NCAA Div. III tournament.
Penn State Behrend, last season's runner-up in the AMCC title game
and the only other squad ever to win the conference volleyball
crown, was selected to finish second, ahead of Pitt-Bradford.
Frostburg's Lauren Petrick (North Caroline HS/Denton, MD) was
the coaches' pick for Preseason Player of the Year. Last
season's conference Co-Player of the
Year, Petrick was ranked near the top of the AMCC in kills (421),
hitting percentage (.284) and service aces (88).

enough to play outside hitter or middle blocker...Tallied 500 career
kills in high school.

MB Erin Monn (Chambersburg HS/Shippensburg, PA)...Led the
Lions in blocks per game and aces per game in 2002, ranking in top
five in the AMCC.
OH Kelly Johnson (Conemough Valley HS/Johnstown, PA)...Finished
second on the team in kills per game and third in hitting percentage
last season.

OH Danielle Bemis (Corry HS/Corry, PA)...First team All-AMCC
last year...Led the Behrend Lions in kills and digs per
game...Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for the conference and
