PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

MEDAILLE EXPECTED TO DEFEND
AMCC WOMEN'S TITLE

Medaille College
scored a perfect 10 of 10 first place votes in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference preseason coaches' poll, an overwhelming endorsement of the Lady Mavericks' ability to successfully defend their AMCC women's basketball title. Frostburg State was picked to finish second followed closely by Pitt-Greensburg.

Preseason Player of the Year honors went to last season's AMCC Player of the Year Amanda Baker (Lyons, NY/Newark), who was also an All-America Honorable Mention selection. The 6-0 forward was the league's second leading scorer (15.8 ppg) and top rebounder (10.5 rpg).  She shot a conference-best 58% from the field  and averaged 1.86 blocks.

The AMCC, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2006-07, kicks off conference play on Wednesday, November 29.  The conference championship will be Saturday, February 24 at the highest remaining seed.  The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
