2011-12 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

LA ROCHE PICKED TO REPEAT
AS AMCC CHAMPIONS

After winning their first AMCC title in 2011, the La Roche College Redhawks are picked to repeat as conference champions in the 2011-12 AMCC Coaches Preseason Poll.  Four time champions Medaille College follow in second place, while Penn St. Behrend (2 titles) and Pitt-Bradford (1 title) are tied for third.

Pitt-Greensburg forward Casey Stanton, last season's Player of the Year, was voted the Preseason Player of the Year.  The senior led the conference in points per game (19.2 ppg), rebounds per game (14.5 rpg), and blocks per game (3.5 BPG) in 2011 and finished 4th in the AMCC in steals per game (2.6 SPG).  Stanton was also ranked in the Top 25 nationally in four statistical categories – points per game (23rd), rebounds per game (6th), blocks per game (10th), and double-doubles (5th - 19 in 25 games).
The AMCC kicks off conference play on Wednesday, November 30, and the championship will be Saturday, February 25, hosted by the number #1 seed.  The tournament winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
