  PENN STATE ALTOONA EXPECTED
TO REPEAT AS AMCC WOMEN'S
CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPS
 


The Penn State Altoons women's cross country team have been picked to defend their  Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference crown, according to the AMCC preseason coaches’ poll.  The Behrend Lions were tabbed at #2 after finishing second at last year's championship meet.  Frostburg State University was picked third.

Preseason Runner of the Year honors were awarded to Penn State Behrend sophomore Jenny Bailey (Corry HS/Corry, PA).  Bailey was the runner-up at the AMCC championship in 2005 and was named conference Newcomer of the Year.  Bailey was also selected to the All-Mideast Region Freshman team for her performance at the NCAA Mideast Regional meet.

The AMCC, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2006-07, will hold its conference championship meet on Saturday, October 28 at Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH.
