 PENN STATE BEHREND IS COACHES' PICK
TO REPEAT AS AMCC CHAMPS
 

By a slim margin, Penn State Behrend has been selected by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference coaches to successfully defend their league title in 2007.  Frostburg State University, the runner-up in last year's finale,  landed in the #2 spot, with La Roche College at #3.

Preseason Player of the Year honors were awarded to Lake Erie College junior forward  Angela Bethel (Beavercreek, OH/Miami Valley School).  Bethel was the conference's leading scorer last season with 30 goals, 9 assists, and 69 points, and was ranked #4 nationally in goals per game and points per game. Her honors included being named to the AMCC all-conference first, D3Kicks.com Great Lakes Region first team, and CoSIDA/ESPN Magazine All-District second team.  Bethel also earned recognition as a member of the All-Ohio academic first team.

The AMCC kicks off conference play on Saturday, September 22.  The conference championship will be Saturday, November 3 at the highest remaining seed.  The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Sophomore F Danielle Radlich (Clarence, NY/Clarence)...First team all-AMCC and Newcomer of the Year in 2006...D3Kicks.com first team all-region selection...Ranked #2 in the conference in points (59, 3.11 ppg) and goals (24, 1.26 gpg)...led the league in assists (11, .58 apg).
